The Forte Award
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils

This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster and Deputy Head of Academics and Futures alongside Mr Hibbert. They were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...

Florence (2nd Form)
Mabli (2nd Form)
Florence and Mabli have been recognised for the kindness, empathy, and quiet strength they have shown in supporting another pupil who has been finding school and friendships challenging. They have demonstrated genuine care and compassion, while also standing up for what is right. A wonderful example of empathy in action. Well done to you both.

Ben (4th Form)
Gabs (4th Form)
Congratulations to Ben and Gabs on being selected for the North East Wales Under 17 pathways squads at just 15 years of age. A fantastic achievement and recognition of their talent, commitment, and potential.

Annabelle (2nd Form)
Annabelle has shown outstanding progress in sport this term and continues to flourish across multiple disciplines. She has delivered excellent performances in Netball and represented Olympians at the Sportshall competition against Wrekin, Telford, Shrewsbury, and Much Wenlock. Annabelle achieved 1st place in the four lap running race, 2nd in the relay, and 3rd in shot put. These results are a testament to her hard work, dedication, and growing confidence. It has been a pleasure to see her development.

Levi (Lower Sixth)
Since September, Levi has worked exceptionally hard in his DT lessons, achieving A grades in almost all in-class assessments. He consistently completes prep and lesson work to a very high standard. His wooden frame demonstrated excellent joint-making skills, and his mini table was produced with impressive accuracy and attention to detail. Levi has been a pleasure to teach this year and he will be greatly missed by staff and classmates alike when he leaves in February.

Morgan (3rd Form)
Morgan competed at the British Shooting National Finals this week, having moved up a class to the highly competitive Intermediate category. Despite being at the junior end of this field, Morgan showed increasing consistency and composure, holding his own on the national stage. This marks the second consecutive year he has qualified for the National Finals, reflecting his continued progress and determination.

Oscar (2nd Form)
Oscar also competed at the British Shooting National Finals, returning a year on from what he found to be a daunting first experience. Over the past twelve months, Oscar has made significant improvements and approached this competition with greater confidence and maturity. His tenth place finish in the qualifier demonstrates his development and growing resilience, laying strong foundations for future success.

William (1st Form)
William has only been shooting since September and has made remarkable progress in a very short space of time. To qualify for the National Finals at his first attempt, in under five months, is an impressive achievement in itself. Despite the challenging environment, William performed admirably and showed great composure. He is a young talent with significant potential and is sure to continue developing rapidly in the sport.

Brodie (2nd Form)
Brodie competed over two days at the British Shooting National Finals, securing a gold medal in the pistol competition and a 7th place finish in the rifle final. Remarkably, he was the only competitor to take part in both disciplines, having only switched to rifle last summer. Given the contrasting techniques required, this represents an outstanding demonstration of skill, adaptability, and determination.
