The Forte Award
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils

This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster and Deputy Head of Co-curricular and Partnerships. They were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...

William (1st)
William showed excellent leadership skills on Saturday at the U12 Cricket game with positivity, support for other team mates and organising the field. Along with this, he was a role model to the younger boys and showed them how to behave correctly.

Alana (5th)
Alana has shown excellent commitment to revision for her upcoming GCSEs and has approached study leave with maturity and positivity. She was also incredibly thoughtful in writing thank you letters to each of her teachers, which was greatly appreciated by staff. In addition, she has volunteered to continue helping in the Prep School between exams in preparation for her childcare course in September.

Leighton (1st)
On several occasions Leighton has gone out of his way to help others. In Prep Club he assisted two other students in understanding a mathematical equation. In English he has, a number of times, offered other students a book to borrow from him when they have finished their own book. He has also offered to take a student to the nurse when they were clearly unwell. Thank you for being so consistently kind and thoughtful.

Giselle (U6th)
For unwavering loyalty and kindness. In particular, your dedication in supporting Tzuki during these first weeks has been truly extraordinary. Your compassion and care have made all the difference, and we are so thankful to have you with us in Holbache House.

Noah (4th)
At the West Midlands Swimming Championships Noah came 4th in the final of the 50m butterfly, 6th in the final of the 100m butterfly, and 15th in the 100m backstroke.

Hannah (2nd)
Hannah made the 200m butterfly final in the West Midlands Swimming Championships and achieved 7th position.

Émilie (4th)
Having enrolled at Oswestry School only a month ago, Émilie has already represented the School on 2 different occasions in tennis matches, in both singles and doubles, finishing with good results and representing the School well. Well done Émilie.

Pierre (4th)
Having enrolled at Oswestry School just under a month ago, Pierre has already represented the School on 2 different occasions in tennis matches, in both singles and doubles, finishing with good results and representing the School well. Well done Pierre.

Poppy L-C (3rd)
A massive well done to Poppy  in the NSEA event this weekend, qualifying for nationals at both Hickstead & Addington! Poppy travelled to Allen’s Hill in Pershore to compete in National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) showjumping. The course was tricky, resulting in a lot of eliminations. Poppy and her fabulous stallion Monarch pulled off a great round for a very close second, resulting in individual qualifications for two national championships - Hickstead in August and Addington in October. Congratulations Poppy!

Calum (3rd)
Calum competed in his first ever rowing regatta at the weekend. He achieved second place in the J14 Single Sculls which is a huge achievement for his debut! Well done Calum.

Louis (1st)
Louis made 2 excellent catches in the field on Saturday, demonstrating his progress within this arena. We are very impressed with his progress and attitude towards cricket.

Evan (1st)
Evan showed his hard work and effort in cricket on Saturday with an excellent wicket taken, and a couple of 4's during his batting innings. Evan has made exceptional progress in this area.

Ahmed (2nd)
Ahmed always gives 100% in Adventure Education and has already shown himself to be an accomplished fencer and skateboarder. However he was in a league of his own at the end of last month when a group of 12 pupils took to the local roads and pathways on mountain bikes. His sheer determination and leg strength ensured that he was always leading from the front, having to be told to slow down on several occasions, literally leaving his peers behind! A fabulous inclusive session where Ahmed really found his forte.

Lucy (L6th)
Lucy has been volunteering at the Prep school with the Reception and Year 3 classes for several weeks on Wednesday afternoons. Mrs Middleton and Miss Evans have noted that she has been doing really well. In the Reception class, she has been interacting with the children and has enjoyed reading with them over the past few weeks, and commented on how patient she is with all the children.
