The Forte Award
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils

This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster and Deputy Head of Co-curricular and Partnerships. They were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...

Lucinda (4th)

Noah (4th)

Ramiro (5th)

Wang Qi (U6th)
For a fantastic performance of Lord of the Rings in assembly this week, this fully exemplified the hard work that all the members of the string quartet have put in this year in rehearsing at lunchtimes, entering the music festival and collaborating with the wind instruments to create the Chamber Orchestra. Well done!

James (3rd)
James has acted as a buddy for several taster pupils over the past few months, and on each occasion he has gone above and beyond in the diligence, kindness and care he has shown them. He has taken the role extremely seriously, making every effort to ensure that each taster pupil feels welcome and enjoys their experience. In doing so, James has proved himself to be a reliable, thoughtful and exemplary ambassador for the school.

Alexia  (L6th)
Sometimes it is what we do when we think no-one is around to see that makes all the difference. Lexie showed a kind, caring nature this week by a simple act of opening the gate for a maintenance van to get through. A small act, but one that was kind and thoughtful and made the maintenance gentleman smile.

Eli (1st)
Eli played for the 1st cricket team on Saturday and held his own well. He took 2 wickets, both of which he bowled out. The team also got a runout as well in his first over. He represented the u15's the week before against Solihull school and again carried himself well. He also scored his first 50 against the Shropshire team that week. Eli has been selected into the Shropshire EEP Enhanced squad, of which he is the only one from school to be selected into the higher Shropshire u12 team.

Sam (5th)
Sam has flourished this academic year and has really improved in all areas of school life. He works hard and is reaping the benefits of his hard work.

Florence (2nd)
Florence is consistently engaged in her lessons. She's never late, she works hard and always applies herself with willingness and dedication.

Lottie (2nd)
Lottie took part in the NGA National Tumbling Championships at the end of April. Her hard work and dedication paid off, as she returned home as National Champion! It had been a full-on 3 weekends in a row - with competitions in Leicester (National IGA Gems), Corby (NGA) and Milton Keynes (National IGA Tumbling) and Lottie did amazingly in each. Well done Lottie - a truly inspiring achievement.

Nia (5th)
Nia is diligent, hardworking and always goes the extra mile with her studies. She is humble in her endeavours to succeed, and she must be celebrated for all her hard work and dedication to life at Oswestry School.

Oliver (5th)
Following an injury, Oliver has worked with a sports psychologist to regain his form. His hard work has paid off with his recent achievements of achieving bronze at the Public Schools' Fencing Championships and a strong performance at the GB training camp over Easter, where he was commended for his commitment and effort. All of which has reignited his determination ahead of the upcoming season, which resumes after his exams, and we look forward to hearing how he gets on at the British Open in July.

Bea (L6th)
Bea received an award at the end-of-season awards for Shrewsbury hockey club, along with excelling in her leadership skills at school as she has been a really good role model in hockey, encouraging younger players and was excellent coaching a team on the Saturday fixture.
