The Forte Award 
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils

This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster and Head Of Assessment And Innovation at HMC. They were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...


Archie (3rd Form)
Archie has made real positive strides in his learning, achieving excellent results in Science and Maths. Keep up the good work, Archie.

Lottie (2nd Form)
Lottie competed in the IGA North Levels Gymnastics Competition, placing 1st on bars, 2nd on floor and joint 3rd all-round, qualifying for the National Levels Finals. At the Finals in Milton Keynes last weekend, she placed 1st on bars, joint 1st on floor, 2nd on beam and joint 2nd on vault, resulting in an overall 1st place. She is now the IGA Level 7 National Champion in her age category. An amazing achievement.

Sam (5th Form)
Sam has excelled in utilising his access arrangements during mocks. He approached all examinations with positivity and sheer determination to succeed.

Brodie (2nd Form)
Brodie shot a superb 178 at the British Shooting Schools East Midlands Pistol Qualifier, finishing first and winning the final shootout to qualify for the National Finals. He then travelled to Cardiff for the Welsh Pistol Qualifier where, in a field of 30 shooters, he equalled his score of 178 and again won the final shootout, bringing home another gold medal. Brodie also competed in the 12 & Under Grade 3 tennis tournament at Ellesmere, finishing 3rd/4th after knocking out the number 2 seed, ranked nearly 300 places above him.

Harry (5th Form)
Following strong recent performances in cross country, Harry has been selected to represent Shropshire in an upcoming Inter-County competition. Well done, Harry.


Rebecca (5th Form)
Rebecca has thrown herself fully into weekly boarding life, contributing positively to the community with her friendliness and fun. She has embraced every opportunity and is a much-loved member of Guinevere House.


Ella Rose (1st Form)
Ella created the winning cell model in her year group, using plant materials to produce an impressive palisade cell. She has also shown a consistently outstanding attitude to learning in science this year.

Isha (5th Form)
Isha produced an excellent presentation about her heritage, culture and language in both Slovenia and Nigeria, which she delivered to residents at Bluebell View Care Home. The residents were highly engaged and loved hearing about her background.


Izzy (5th Form)
Izzy has grown hugely through her boarding experience this term. She has thrown herself into school life, joining the girls’ football team and becoming a Library Ambassador. Her confidence, kindness and calm presence shine in the boarding house.

Brooks (1st Form)
Since joining Oswestry in September, Brooks has embraced every aspect of school life and boarding. She brings joyful positivity to everything she does and has grown brilliantly as an individual. Well done, Brooks.

Till (L6th Form)
Till has made the very most of his term at Oswestry School, becoming an integral part of School House. His confidence has grown enormously as he has used his English, made new friends and created many happy memories. Till is also commended for his beautiful performance of Chopin’s ‘Grand Valse’ in assembly this week. He has worked tirelessly this term, practising daily, and his dedication shone through in a stunning performance.


Pearl (5th Form)
Pearl has been instrumental in helping Mrs Gallagher promote the powerful impact of assistive technology. She has taken a proactive and committed role in assistive technology training.
