The Forte Award
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils

This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster and Deputy Head of Co Curricular and Partnerships. They were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...

Frieda (Lower Sixth form)
Frieda has made excellent progress in netball since joining us in September. She had never played netball and had her debut last week, scoring a number of goals for the U16 team.

James (4th form)
For a brilliant performance of an excerpt from ‘Lord of the Flies’ at assembly this week. For being willing to do it at the very last minute as well as being the first actor to perform at our weekly assemblies.

Isla (5th form)
Isla has been making exceptional progress in her netball this season. She is coachable, listens and takes on board feedback. It was evident in a recent match where she played outstandingly.

Paloma (3rd form)
Paloma has made excellent progress in netball since joining us in September. She had never played netball and has now represented the school on several occasions, showing her athleticism and hard work.

Kaka (5th form)
Kaka, you are an absolute superstar. Both the School House Housemistress and Matron are very impressed with the mature and committed approach you are taking to your studies. Last term you made a huge step up. Looking at your books, it is clear to see that you are preparing revision notes for your examinations at the end of each topic. Well done.

Sonya (Lower Sixth form)
Marcus (Lower Sixth form)
Stepan (Upper Sixth form)
Artem (Lower Sixth form)
Sasha (Lower Sixth form)
For demonstrating exceptional resilience, commitment and proactiveness in the running of a successful OsBiz venture. This award recognises sustained effort, initiative and a positive attitude in responding to challenges and opportunities. Sonya and Sasha successfully ran ‘Wonderful Waffles’ last term. This term they are trialling cheesy chips. Artem, Stepan and Marcus run the ever-popular ‘Peter’s Pizza’ every week, which is now operating over two days. All profits from OsBiz ventures are donated to charity.

Arthur (4th form)
Arthur has been responsible for running a French conversational class for Lower Sixth. He is dedicated to supporting our young people grow a passion for the French language.

Alexa (Upper Sixth form)
As a prefect, part of the role is to meet, greet and tour visitors, and the prefect body does this exceptionally well. However, when we receive such a glowing report from a visitor about the friendly, calm and welcoming nature of their tour guide, it cannot go unrecognised. Alexa chatted effortlessly with our visitor and made her stay very welcoming, demonstrating the very best of Oswestry School.
