The Forte Award
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils

This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster, Mr Middleton, and Deputy Head (Co-Curricular and Partnerships), Mr Mahony. Both were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...

Linda (4th Form)
Linda, thank you for your amazing contribution in a lesson on diabetes. Your willingness to talk honestly and openly about living with diabetes really helped the group understand the interaction of insulin, diet, and exercise on blood sugar levels. You are an amazing young lady, and thank you wholeheartedly.

Sebastian (1st Form)
During the break, Seb received some exciting news that following a trial, he has been selected for the National UR7s Academy. He will start training at the start of 2025/26 season, joining U14’s team training. Feedback received from the coaching team; “We were really impressed by Seb's performance on the day. Following the trial, our coaching team came together to review and discuss all the players who attended, and it was unanimously agreed that Seb stood out for his skill, athleticism, and attitude. We believe he has fantastic potential in the game of sevens, and as such, we’re delighted to offer him a place in the UR7s Academy for the 2025/26 season”.

Emily (2nd Form)

Emily has done sterling work on our Computer Aided Design unit. She has helped other students in class. Most recently she was set a challenge to produce a printable 3D chain which could be printed without support. In her own time she researched and made the model. When printed it worked. This is so impressive - very well done.
