Musical Theatre Camp

Oswestry School has a rich tradition of excellence in the performing arts and, with a brand new, starte-of-the-art facility due to open in 2026, we are delighted to be extending this offering to the wider world.

But, being Oswestry, we never like to do things by halves! Our Light Up the Stage experience is not just about performing musical theatre - it's about the whole process of generating a spectacular production from start to finish.

No matter whether you are a budding set-designer, an aspiring composer or a choreographer looking to work on their first major project, the Oswestry Musical Theatre Camp is for you! We will be creating a brand new piece of musical theatre from scratch and working towards a gala performance at the end of October 2026.

You can look forward to working with experienced and award-winning practitioners, adding your own creative flair to the process and becoming a part of the Oswestry School family.

While there will be advanced work over video calls for our writing, composition and design teams, the crux of the project is the camp itself, which will take place in the October half-term.

Whatever your passions and talents are, we want to fuel them - and don't worry if you aren't sure of your specialism yet! We will work with you to make sure you do something you really enjoy!

Our staff have experience of the industry and also of working in the school setting to - so expertise is seemlessly blended with pastoral care.

As the programme is already popular, we are asking interested pupils (aged between 12 and 17) to fill out an application form, explaining a little bit about themselves and their interests - they will also have the opportunity to submit a sample of their work.

The camp is held at the school and all participants will stay in our state of the art boarding facilities and all food will be provided by our oustanding catering team.
