The Forte Award
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils
This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster and Deputy Head of Co-curricular and Partnerships. They were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...
Bea (2nd Form)
Annabelle (2nd Form)
Florence (2nd Form)
Daisy (2nd Form)
Brodie (2nd Form)
Ed (2nd Form)
Seb (2nd Form)
To our 2nd Form helpers in recognition of their outstanding support throughout The Challenge. Their effort, enthusiasm, and team leadership were fantastic to witness, and they were a real credit to both themselves and the school. Feedback from their respective teams, brackets, and visiting schools highlighted how brilliant they were to work with. They proved to be superb ambassadors for Oswestry School and are thoroughly deserving of their Forte Award.
Marco (L6th Form)
On scoring 100% on this week's pre-mock exam paper. Marco opened up a tracking spreadsheet he has made to record and analyse all of his assessment results in each of his A-level subjects. He truly drives his own learning independently and takes real responsibility for getting the most out of his time in school. Amazing sustained commitment to learning, and remarkable effort in class, and in the construction of his EPQ.
Timothée (L6th Form)
Staying out for Run club after having competed in the County Cross Country earlier in the afternoon; showing great determination and spirit.
Tom (L6th Form)
Florence (L6th Form)
CCF Evanson Shield - This award is for outstanding leadership within CCF. The task of bringing a team together across a full day of competition and also in the field the night before and being able to lead them as a cohesive unit is an impressive feat. Being able to be in the right place at the right time as a unit and not just as an individual is a challenge in itself, but alongside that to motivate and encourage them to take part and compete at the best possible level as well. Their determination made the day run smoothly and was a huge success and the result at the end of the day was as close as it was possible to be. They have stood up and been counted and that alone justifies this award.
Jack (L6th Form)
To Jack, not only for his commitment to The Challenge at Oswestry School, where he was specifically requested as a helper for archery but also for his wider dedication to co-curricular life. He is a mainstay of our volleyball squad and has shown real commitment to the CCF. Yesterday was a perfect example of his enthusiasm, drive, and willingness to support the school while striving to be the best version of himself. Jack is a truly excellent character and a pleasure to have in the school community, thoroughly deserving of this Forte Award.
