The Forte Award
Celebrating the Strength and Excelling of Oswestry School pupils
This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster and Deputy Head of Academic and Futures. They were delighted to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...

Émilie O (4th) and Abigaël PD (4th)
Asked to produce a video review, you worked with great focus and collaboratively to produce an outstanding video which was superbly presented, very well organised and used an impressive range of language. This quality and approach is typical from you both and is as impressive as it is commendable. Well done!

Tabby O (L6th)
Last week Tabby joined her dad in Kazakhstan for a week’s work experience. Her trip focused on shadowing and working with the British Chamber of Commerce team; this included helping with the registration of guests and setting up for the AGM, attending the First Central Asian Sustainable Tourism Annual Summit, making site visits, attending the King’s Birthday Party event and meeting with the ambassador, the Head of Trade and Investment, a series of prominent business people and members of regional government. Tabby tackled this experience with ease and showed a real skill to have at her age.
Thomas R (1st)
Thomas has flourished this year. He has a strong work ethic, is conscientious, perceptive, and emotionally intelligent. He has met a number of his IDP goals and is going from strength to strength. We are very proud of you, Thomas!
Scarlett W (1st)
Scarlett has been selected to represent Shropshire Hockey in the Next Gen U15 Girls Squad as one of two goalkeepers. They will play at the National Hockey Championship in July

Bella G (4th)
Sophia M (3rd)
Bella and Sophia have given up their time this year to support pupils and prepare dances for the Junior Dance Academy. Whilst this has been a wonderful help to Bella and Sophia’s own growth, specifically in dance, their help has been a huge part of the academy's success. Thank you for taking the lead and supporting the younger children so wonderfully.
Fraser H (L6th)
For representing the school with excellence at the Athletics event on the 12th of June: running sports events, timekeeping, being positive and proactive, engaging with other school staff and pupils & showcasing our school in an excellent light. Fraser should be praised for his impeccable organisation of the javelin event. Well done Fraser!
Alexia P-A (L6th)
For representing the school with excellence at the Athletics event on the 12th of June: running sports events, timekeeping, being positive and proactive, engaging with other school staff and pupils & showcasing our school in an excellent light. Lexie had one of the toughest jobs at the finish line - recording all the results. She remained calm and collected during stressful times and was accurate in her records. Well done Lexie!
Maisey L (L6th)
For representing the school with excellence at the Athletics event on the 12th of June: running sports events, timekeeping, being positive and proactive, engaging with other school staff and pupils & showcasing our school in an excellent light. Maisey showed superb organisation at the finish line, and took on the role of organising others too. Well done Maisey!
Rory H (2nd), Brodie L (2nd) and Olivia P (1st)
Rory, Brodie and Olivia helped out with the shooting for the year 6 taster day. They worked with the pupils to help them achieve shots on target and particularly with those who have never shot before showing and teaching them the basic skills needed. They demonstrated the “patience of a saint” with some of them and managed the same level of enthusiasm and tolerance for three hours. Mr Hibbert says, “I could not have run that session without their help and for that I am immensely grateful.”
