Talk about finding your forte! This summer, 3rd Former Thomas proudly represented Great Britain 🇬🇧 at the European Modern Pentathlon Championships in Lithuania an incredible achievement for such a young athlete.

The competition began with demanding qualification rounds that tested the athletes in three disciplines: obstacle course racing (OCR), swimming, and the combined laser shooting and running event. Thomas rose to the challenge, qualifying for the finals and impressively recording the fastest laser run time in his heat – an outstanding feat against Europe’s top young competitors.

In the finals, the field was reduced to the 30 strongest athletes from across the continent. Thomas delivered a fantastic all-round performance, finishing 13th overall, 3rd in the laser run section, and securing the honour of being the first GB U15 boy home.

This achievement earned Thomas a place in the mixed relays, where he was paired with the top GB U15 girl. Together, they produced another brilliant performance, just missing out on a podium place and finishing 4th overall – a result that reflects both determination and teamwork at the highest level.

We could not be prouder of Thomas for his commitment, resilience, and outstanding representation of both Great Britain and Oswestry School. His performance is an inspiration to his peers and a perfect example of how our pupils are encouraged to find their forte and excel beyond the classroom.
