The entire Third Form headed out for their first CCF overnight camp at the Nesscliff Training Area, and what an introduction it proved to be. Pupils built their own bashas and learnt the essentials of field cooking before settling into Helicopter Woods. True to its name, the woods gave them a thrilling experience of low-flying helicopters right over the harbour area as they tucked into their ration packs.
The evening continued with a lesson in camouflage and concealment, giving pupils the chance to put their new skills into practice before heading back to camp.
It was a fantastic experience and a great way to give Third Form a true taste of what life in the CCF is all about.
