On Wednesday, we celebrated the passion, talent, and commitment that define life beyond the classroom here at Oswestry.
The evening was brought to life by two spectacular performances in Music and Dance, delivered by Emily on the clarinet, swiftly followed by Sophia and Bella who delivered their GCSE dance piece which was both moving and spectacular.. These vibrant interludes showcased the depth of talent in our Performing Arts programme; a real reminder of the creativity that thrives at Oswestry.
A standout moment was the awarding of International Colours to two outstanding pupils.
Josie has represented the England Independent Schools Football Association (ISFA) with distinction on the international stage. Meanwhile, Hannah was recognised for an astonishing victory in the National Schools Shooting Championship, where success came down to the very last shot..an incredible achievement!
Our Director of Sport spoke powerfully about the exceptional dedication and leadership shown by this year’s whole school award winners, Georgia was presented with Sportswoman of the Year and Freddie won Sportsman of the Year, both have consistently embodied the spirit of Oswestry through sport and service.
Mr Fitch presented the Performing Arts Pupil of the Year Award to Lily, fresh off her star role in Legally Blonde, she has had a truly remarkable year, contributing immensely to the arts at school.
Deputy Head (Co-curricular and Partnerships) Mr Mahony closed the evening by thanking the parents, grandparents and supporters whose presence made the night even more special. He spoke with real conviction about how “moments make up the co-curricular life of the school,” urging every pupil to seize their moment. Whether on the field, on the stage, or in the support they offer to others.
A truly uplifting evening that captured the essence of our school community.
