This week, our Year 2 classroom was transported to East Africa, thanks to two of our senior pupils, Henry (Fifth Form) and Janice (Sixth Form), who shared stories and insights about their home country, Kenya.
As part of the Year 2 geography topic on Our World, Henry and Janice spoke about what life is like growing up in Kenya, introducing pupils to the country’s vibrant culture, languages, and traditions. They shared photographs of local landmarks and wildlife, sparking great excitement as pupils recognised elephants, lions, and giraffes from their own studies.
The younger pupils were full of curiosity, asking questions about school life in Kenya, the food people eat, and the differences in weather and landscape. Henry and Janice spoke with warmth and enthusiasm, helping everyone understand more about the diversity and beauty of their country.
The session was a wonderful example of pupils learning from one another and celebrating our global school community. A huge thank you to Henry and Janice for taking the time to inspire our youngest learners! Your visit made the topic truly come alive!
