We are delighted to announce that Oswestry School has been shortlisted for Outstanding Fundraising Achievement in the 2025 Independent Schools of the Year Awards.
The recognition celebrates the incredible success of our Performing Arts Centre Appeal—a bold £1.5 million vision to transform our historic Memorial Hall into a state-of-the-art hub for music, drama and dance. The new Performing Arts Centre will not only enrich the lives of Oswestry pupils, but also serve as a cultural and creative space for the wider Shropshire community.
At the heart of the campaign was the unforgettable Non-Stop! Charity Challenge—a 24-hour fundraising extravaganza that brought together more than 200 pupils, staff, parents, and Old Oswestrians. From marathons and triathlons to bake sales, silent discos, torchlit processions, a 24-hour caricature marathon and an 80km trek along Offa’s Dyke, the energy and enthusiasm on display captured the very best of the Oswestry spirit.
The event raised £30,600 and sparked a wave of support across our school community and beyond.
We are also proud to share that we have now raised over £1 million towards our £1.5 million target—an incredible milestone made possible by the dedication and generosity of so many supporters.
And the momentum continues. We break ground on the new Performing Arts Centre this August, marking the start of a transformative project that will benefit generations to come.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the appeal so far—we are honoured to be recognised on the national stage and excited for the future this project will help shape.
