Senior School Activities

Activities Week 2025 launched with our Preparation for Life Activity Days for Fourth Form and Lower Sixth. Now in its second year these days provide pupils a chance to swap textbooks for toolboxes, and lessons for life hacks.

Part of the school’s ever-evolving Futures Programme, the day focused on learning the real-world skills that adults often say they wish they’d been taught in school. From cooking and landscaping basics to DIY know-how, teamwork, and problem-solving, pupils rolled up their sleeves and threw themselves into the challenge.

There were three action-packed workshops, each allowing pupils to showcase innovation, creativity, and collaboration, all mixed in with just the right amount of mess. Whether they were handling tools, working with paint, or tackling practical puzzles, pupils were immersed in learning that felt more like fun than work.

Staff were full of praise for the pupils’ positive attitudes and willingness to get stuck in, with many commenting on how confident and capable pupils appeared as they tackled each new task.

More than just a break from routine, the Preparation for Life Activity Day offered a glimpse into the bigger picture and empowered our pupils to take on life’s everyday challenges with skill, confidence, and a smile.

A fantastic start to our annual activities week, and proof that learning really does come in all shapes, sizes, and sometimes splattered with paint!
