Our Co-curricular Creative Writing Club had the pleasure of welcoming Gemma Manning-Bentley from Qube Oswestry this week for a special workshop in preparation for our upcoming Poetry Evening, taking place on Thursday 19th June.
The theme for both the Club this term and the Poetry Evening itself is “The Life and Works of Tove Jansson” — the celebrated Finnish-Swedish author and artist best known for creating the beloved Moomin stories, as well as several beautifully crafted works for adult readers.
Gemma’s visit provided pupils with an opportunity to explore Jansson’s themes, characters, and unique storytelling style in greater depth.
