Two Oswestry School parents have launched an incredible cycling challenge to raise both funds and awareness for the school's Performing Arts Centre appeal. Their initiative, aptly named A Dramatic Month of Miles, began on Sunday and will run throughout the month of June.

Justin Grayston and Nick Barker, both amateur cyclists, have committed to riding an ambitious 1,000 miles each over the course of the month. Balancing this feat with the demands of work and family life, they are pushing themselves to the limit in support of the school’s £1.5 million campaign to build a much-needed Performing Arts Centre — a facility that will support creativity and talent not just within the sschool, but across the wider community as well.

The dynamic duo will be clocking up miles wherever they can: on roads, trails, and even spin bikes — whatever it takes to reach their goal. And as if cycling 1,000 miles isn’t enough, they’ve planned a special grand finale.

Nick explained: “We’re hoping to end the challenge on a high by cycling from Bristol’s Old Vic theatre — the oldest continuously operating theatre in the UK — all the way back to Oswestry School, which we hope will soon be home to one of the newest performing arts centres!”

We will be sharing regular updates on their journey through the school newsletter and social media. In the meantime, donations to support Justin and Nick’s epic effort can be made via their JustGiving page: Dramatic Month of Miles.
