Jasper shoots for success
First form pupil Jasper competed in the Grand National Archery Meet at Lilleshall last weekend, a two-day event which saw him shoot a total of 300 arrows and score an impressive 2292 points. He also succeeded in raising his PB by more than 50 points receiving a Red Rose Award and coming away with a well deserved second place in his category.
Not one to rest on his laurels, Jasper has decided to use his love of archery to promote the school's Performing Arts Centre appeal.
He has challenged himself to shoot an impressive 1000 arrows in one month and hopes to raise sponsorship for the £1.5million appeal.
With all that practice shooting, he will surely raise some money and beat his PB again at his next competition. Well done Jasper!
Litter-pick challenge
In the meantime, his sister Izzy has also taken on a personal fundraising challenge to support the Performing Arts Centre appeal,  and is half way through a sponsored litter pick challenge. She started her challenge in the half term break and is aiming to collect at least 100kg, which equates to about 20 bin bags of rubbish, over the next few weekends, fitting the challenge around her schoolwork and weekend activities.

A Dramatic Month of Madness
As parents Nick Barker and Justin Grayston enter the second week of their 'Mad' challenge to cycle 1000 miles each throughout the month of June, the reality of their undertaking has begun to bite.  Work and parent commitments mean that clocking up the miles on their bikes is proving difficult, however the pair have kept going and have cycled just over a quarter of the distance.

Justin said:
"After the first week we did 451 miles out of the combined 2000 miles. By day 12, we are now on 580.6 miles of 2000 combined. Yes, we aren't doing 1000 miles collectively, we are doing 1000 miles each. Perhaps now we might be regretting that!"

A distance of 1000 miles roughly equates the distance from Oswestry to Warsaw in Poland.
But their commitment to the challenge remains strong and they plan a big weekend of cycling to get back on track.
