U11 Sport

This week saw an action-packed set of fixtures for our U11 Football and U11 Hockey teams, with Oswestry School proudly represented in both tournaments. Despite challenging weather and tough opposition, our pupils showed fantastic determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship throughout.

U11 Football
Oswestry School hosted the tournament with competitors from Ellesmere College, Trefonen, Criftins, and Moreton Hall. The matches were played on grass—made even more testing by persistent rain, which added an extra layer of difficulty to every pass, tackle, and shot. Despite the slippery conditions, the team produced some excellent football. Their passing and movement were superb, creating several opportunities and putting numerous shots on target. Our goalkeeper also delivered a standout performance with a string of impressive saves. Trefonen emerged as the overall winners on this occasion; our players demonstrated real progress and resilience. They should be proud of their teamwork and their ability to adapt to the conditions.

U11 Hockey
The U11 Hockey tournament was equally exciting, with Oswestry School, Moreton Hall, and Adcote each entering two teams. The pitches were full of energy from start to finish as players across all schools showcased impressive skills in tackling, passing, and quick movement off the ball. Both Oswestry teams performed brilliantly, but it was the Oswestry School A team who shone brightest. working cohesively, creating great chances, and defending with determination. Their efforts were rewarded as they finished the competition as champions.

A Great Week of Sport
Well done to all players who took part in both tournaments. Whether battling the rain on the football field or competing fiercely on the hockey pitch, our pupils demonstrated commitment, enthusiasm, and a true sporting spirit. We look forward to seeing this momentum continue into the rest of the season!
