We are delighted to share that Isla Arrell, one of our talented pupils, has been named a finalist in the prestigious British Farming Awards.
The Awards, which celebrate innovation and dedication across the UK agricultural sector, have recognised Isla for her remarkable contribution to farming at such a young age. Growing up surrounded by the countryside and immersed in agricultural life, she has combined passion with hard work to achieve recognition on a national stage.
Describing Isla’s achievement, a spokesperson for the British Farming Awards said:
“At just 15 years old, Isla is balancing her GCSE studies with an impressive dedication to farming. She not only cares for and trains her Holstein and Jersey cows, but also helps to mentor younger members of her local Holstein Club.
“In recent years, Isla has enjoyed notable success in the show ring, winning multiple handling awards and taking the Champion Calf title with ‘Barbie’. Both Isla and Barbie went on to qualify for the prestigious All Britain competition, where Isla placed fifth in handling and Barbie achieved second in her class.”
The British Farming Awards ceremony will take place later this year, where winners from across the UK will be announced. Regardless of the outcome, we are proud to have such an inspiring and hardworking young person represent our school.
We know our whole school community will join us in congratulating Isla and wishing them the very best of luck at the finals!
