This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster, Mr Middleton, who was delighted to be able to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...

Sofija (L6th)
Sofija demonstrates many Forte values in this nomination. She kindly helped to translate the Thanksgiving service for Mia's family and friends. During this, she demonstrated such maturity and respect to all involved. There was never any doubt of the level of trust we placed in her for this task.

Katherine (5th)
Katherine has been an outstanding role model and an inspiring example in the field of Dance and the Performing Arts. Her contributions to the recent Dance Showcase were a fitting testimony to her talents and her collaborative contributions to choreography in inspiring the next generation of dancers.

Alisha (5th)
Alisha has been gaining work experience on Wednesday afternoons by assisting in prep school with Reception and Year 1 classes. This valuable experience is preparing her for college, which she starts in September. Staff members have praised her exceptional performance, and we have been pleased with her initiative in organising the work experience independently. Alisha's thoughtful approach was evident even on her final day, when she brought cake for the children and made sure to email in advance to check for any dietary restrictions.

Isla (3rd)
Isla has not only perfected the technique of lino cut printing, but has also explored its possibilities creatively to produce unique and innovative work. She has shown a lovely sense of wonder and experimentation whilst controlling her materials maturely. Isla has taken risks with beautiful results and she should be very proud of her outcomes.

William (2nd)
William over a number of months has often helped with coaching youngsters with me. On Saturday he stepped up on a very busy cricket day and offered to help run the U11 match. His enthusiasm and care for the younger members of school is a credit to him.

Edith (2nd), Maisey (4th), Arabella (3rd), Poppy (1st)

These pupils did a wonderful job representing Oswestry School at a recent public event, where they worked tirelessly on a stand all day, talking to the public about school life, the work of the school equestrian team and their academic progress and experiences of their schooling journey. A great representation of rounded Oswestry School pupils.

This year, with the launch of the 2030 Strategic Plan- Forte - pupils will be recognised for embodying and demonstrating the school’s Values and Virtues.  Underpinning all aspects of school life, Oswestry School’s Values and Virtues are central to our school’s vision and ethos, empowering pupils in their Oswestry journey and enabling all individuals to excel and find their forte.

Our Values are what we believe in; things that we hold as important and core to who we are. Oswestry School’s Values are deeply rooted and serve as a firm foundation for positive wellbeing, character development and contribution to society.  Our Values are: Flourishment; Opportunity; Responsibility; Trust; Empathy.

Our Virtues represent a range of skill sets that can be experienced, developed and mastered here at Oswestry School. They are behaviours, character strengths, attitudes and mindsets that enable pupils to thrive at school and flourish in life. Our Virtues encourage pupils to be: Analytical; Collaborative; Independent; Innovative; Proactive; Resilient.
