Jeffery (3rd)
For playing three concurrent chess matches (at the same time) - and winning all three!
Sinah (L6th)
As Sinah reaches her final week with us, I wanted to acknowledge the hugely positive impact she has had on all those lucky enough to work with her. Her valedictory report bears testament to her invigorating approach to all aspects of boarding school life.
Luna (5th)
Well done for supporting a pupil from another school when they fell down in the Cross Country event on Saturday. Luna, sat with the patient until paramedics arrived and offered support by showing empathy and holding the girl's ankle stable. Well done Lune, incredibly helpful and brave!
Octave (L6th)
From struggling to adjust to school and boarding routines when you arrived last term, you have had a complete turnaround. You have come out of your shell and have flourished into a well liked member of School House who is a good role model for others in the house.
Harry (3rd)
Harry has progressed to the next stage of the Football Association of Wales (FAW) National Academi representative process and has been selected for the FAW North U14 National Academi Regional representative team.
Milo (4th)
You have had a very positive half-term. Well done, Milo! Thank you for making a Kahoot for the whole house activity on Saturday evening, everyone enjoyed it. I thought you did well to read in Chapel too and prepare some prayers that incorporated the French response 'Hosanna.' It is wonderful to see you so well-integrated in School House and wearing a huge smile.
Marco (5th)
Marco was awarded the Gold award in the Intermediate Maths Challenge and has secured a place in the "Pink Kangaroo" Challenge. The Intermediate UK Maths Challenge (UKMT IMC) is a prestigious mathematics competition in the UK, designed for students age 13-16 (Years 9-11). It features a verity of challenging, non-calculator multiple-choice questions that test problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning. The "Pink Kangaroo" consists of more complex mathematical problems and is aimed at stretching the best young mathematicians further.
Janice (4th), Tinna (5th), Elisa (5th), Khloe (5th) and Arina (5th)
These pupils fully immersed themselves in a recent visit to Bluebell retirement home in Oswestry. They actively enjoyed and involved the residents in the baking activity. An absolute delight to watch!
Max (4th)
Max captained the U15 rugby team on Saturday and in tough circumstances his leadership, effort and resilience to keep going and going was a testament to himself. He was a credit to the school, his team mates and the game of rugby, he should be proud of his efforts, as a coach and teacher, I certainly was. Congratulations Max! Per Adua Ad Astra (From adversity to the starts!)
Isla (4th)
Isla stayed composed and positive and positive during the netball tournament on Saturday. Even against challenging competition, she worked hard in every game, worked with her attacking players to move the ball down the court successfully and even when it was difficult, she showed resilience and did not give up.
