Governor Event

On Friday 5 April Oswestry School Governor, Brian Welti, was formally declared the High Sheriff of Shropshire for the year ahead.

This role boasts a history spanning 1000 years - surpassing the age of our school - and is traditionally to be the King's representative in the country of Shropshire.  The High Sheriff works to support the local judiciary and the emergency services within the county and involves working with the local authority, charities, and faith organisations to maintain strong community foundations.

Chairman Peter Wilcox-Jones, Headmaster Peter Middleton and Bursar Phil Bowd were in attendance for the ceremony, along with Brian's grandchildren (and Oswestry School Prep pupils) Oscar, Luna and Rafi  - who carried in the High Sheriff's ceremonial items.

A truly special moment for the Welti family and Oswestry School.
