Highlights from Senior School Discovery Day

Open Day Academic

We were delighted to welcome families to our Senior School Discovery Day last Saturday, and what a spectacular day it was! With the sun shining down and the campus looking its absolute best, it was the perfect setting for a day to 'Discover Oswestry'...

The day began in the school library, where families were warmly welcomed by Mr Middleton, who introduced the school and shared our ethos and vision. This was followed by a pupil panel discussion, where students from across the school shared their personal experiences of life at Oswestry. Their enthusiasm and pride in their school gave visiting families a genuine insight into our vibrant community.

Then it was time to dive into a range of exciting activities that showcased the breadth of opportunity here at Oswestry:

  • Frushi making — a deliciously creative take on sushi using fresh fruit
  • Sporting challenges — from shooting hoops to friendly sport challenges
  • Catapult engineering — hands-on fun in the science lab
  • Climbing wall — The heady heights of the climbing wall challenge!

All that activity built up quite an appetite, and what better way to end the day than with an ‘Enchanted Afternoon Tea’, provided by our wonderful catering team at Holroyd Howe.

Huge thanks to the staff and pupils who helped to make our Discover Day a day to remember! A special thanks to our parent tour guides who gave up their Saturday to provide some first hand insight for our visiting families, it added a personal touch that visitors commented on positively.
