Trip Zoo

Last month first form enjoyed an  “Our Day Out” field trip  - following the road trip that was the plot of the play by Willy Russell.

The first stop was the Welsh Mountain Zoo, where the private tour guide showed the children all the animals referenced to in the play. She also shared secrets from the filming of the film version!

Just as in the play, we had a picnic lunch on the beach and had lovely, dry weather. Miss Hill organised a game of rugby and some of the children wrote the play title in the sand for a group photograph.

Finally, armed with ice creams we walked over the bridge approaching Conwy Castle and the children were in awe as the castle came into focus.

Back at school they have completed leaflets encouraging others to visit the zoo and acrostic poems with ambitious adjectives about the beauty of the castle.

A good day had by all.
