Remembrance Service

The Remembrance service that took place at Cae Glas Park gates on Monday morning allowed the children to remember those who died in service for our country alongside the members of the public in Oswestry. They were a credit to themselves and the school as they stood respectfully, observed the 2 minute silence and joined in the prayers. Certainly for our Year 6 pupils, this gave greater meaning to their work in English where they have studied poetry and prose based on the First World War.

Throughout the last week, it has been pleasing to see that many passers-by have paused outside Bellan House to read and even photograph the beautifully written poems (based on WW1) that the Year 6 pupils have written and then placed on the school’s railings. Being so close to the park gates, it is an honour to be able to contribute to the memorial service in our own way and also for the children to feel pride that their work is being enjoyed by so many.
