Second Form pupil Jasper is proving his talent on the slopes this year, representing Oswestry School in top-level ski competitions. He spent three weeks training and competing in Switzerland, culminating in impressive results at the Welsh Championships and the prestigious British Schoolboys International Championships.
During the Welsh Championships in Champery, Jasper trained intensively with the Welsh Dragons and Welsh Ski Team. Despite the GS race being canceled due to heavy snow, he excelled in the slalom, finishing in the top 10 U14M and placing as the 2nd Welsh national U14M. To celebrate, he tackled the notorious Swiss Wall piste—twice—at just 12 years old! He was later awarded his medal by a British Consulate representative in Champery.
Jasper then represented Oswestry School in the British Schoolboys International Championships in Wengen, competing against top independent schools. Racing on the legendary Lauberhorn World Cup piste, he secured 13th place in U14 and 56th overall out of 150 competitors, a fantastic achievement.
With new friendships formed and a competitive spirit ignited, Jasper now looks ahead to the British Championships in Italy this February.
