We welcomed Justin and Sherie Soper of the Borderland Rotary Club to assembly this month, where they presented Oswestry 3rd former, Emily, with the Rotary Club Interact Charter to accept on behalf of the school. The charter makes our Interact Club an extension of the Borderland Rotary Club to work in partnership on projects. This requires the organising pupil group to plan, work out and execute up to 3 projects in a year, for the local community and an international charity's.

Mr Soper issued the School with its first fundraising project  -  to raise funds, in partnership with Borderland Rotary, to purchase 2 shelter boxes to help 2 families not just survive but start to rebuild and move forward.

Shelterbox is a registered charity that has been providing emergency shelters and survival equipment for people since the year 2000. What they provide depends on the needs of the people, the situation they are in and the demands of the climate they face. Shelterbox is currently providing shelters and survival equipment in:- Pakistan, Ukraine, Syria, Mozambique, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, Yemen, Ethiopia, Chad, Somalia, Libya, Gaza and Malawi.
