Boarding
Oswestry School boarding offers pupils a remarkable opportunity to live as part of a true family community where they are happy, safe, and cared for. This really is 'home from home' and family is at the heart of all we do.
We have over 100 boarders, a diverse mix of British, European and International pupils, all of whom enjoy a close relationship with the staff that live on-site to look after them, and with each other.
Boarders are extremely happy. They are bright and engaging. Whilst boarders may spend different lengths of time at the school they develop significant and lasting friendship.

Boarders at Oswestry School undoubtedly lead full lives, as they have the time to ensure academic work is completed to a high standard, to be involved in a breadth of co-curricular activities, and to build lifelong friendships. Personal qualities such as confidence, independence, organisation, and leadership are developed in a caring and happy community.
Freedom and responsibility increases as your child moves through the School, which naturally reflects what would happen at home. Pupils benefit from the advice and support of caring and experienced adults at school as well as from their parents. By the time Oswestry School boarders leave the Sixth Form, they are fully prepared for university and adult life.
Boarders are cared for 24 hours a day, seven days a week by experienced and supportive house staff. Pupils enjoy a delicious and nutritious breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, all included in the school fees.
We offer a number of boarding options to suit modern family life, each bringing different individual benefits. Our boarding houses stay open throughout the term, only closing during the main school holidays. A jam-packed weekend activity programme keeps our boarders happy and stimulated.

Oswestry School Boarding Houses
Our boarding houses, Guinevere, School House and Holbache, are the beating heart of the Senior School. They have relaxed, friendly atmospheres where boarders truly feel at ease. The houses are located within the school's grounds, and our beautiful 50 acre site gives them a safe environment to explore, play games and relax. They are a safe place to store possessions, an environment in which you are well known and advised by staff, and a community where lifelong friendships are forged.
Each of the houses has a committed Housemaster or Housemistress, supported by an Assistant Housemaster or Assistant Housemistress and a Matron. Each is a unique community with its own family atmosphere and much-loved traditions.
