Hockey
Every pupil can play Hockey at Oswestry School; boy or girl, experienced or inexperienced, Oswestry prides itself on meeting the needs of all.
Every player has access to our exceptional facilities and expert coaching. Over the years Oswestry School has invested heavily in hockey with the school possessing an outstanding AstroTurf.
Hockey is played for two terms a year, with games and county tournaments against schools being played during the week and at the weekend. High-performance players benefit from specialised technical one-to-one coaching and optional athletic development sessions with our full-time strength and conditioning coach as well as having access to performance analysis through our TPE and TPA software systems.
Oswestry School has strong links with Oswestry Hockey Club with many of our boys and girls training and competing for the club, to further strengthen their skills and performance. We also have a number of pupils featuring in County Academies.
Our emphasis is not purely on winning, but on player development and enjoyment whilst giving players the ultimate hockey experience. We provide opportunities for 2nd XI team fixtures to encourage a wide range of abilities to get involved. Oswestry School also arranges a number of international tours for all age groups to get involved with.
