Prep School (4-11)

We understand what a big decision it is for you to choose the right school for your child. We aim to make the process as simple as possible and have a number of options for you to get to know Oswestry School.

1. Open Mornings

You are also welcome to join us for a Whole School Open Morning, which is held on the first Saturday of October each year, where you will be able to meet our Early Years' teachers and take a tour of the whole Prep School from Reception though to Year 6. If you have the energy, you may also wish to visit the Senior School afterwards and enjoy a delicious school lunch.

Additionally we hold a Prep School Open Morning in May, at Bellan House.

2. Dabble Afternoons

Join us for a fun and interactive Dabble Afternoon. The sessions are for children joining Reception and also provide parents with an ideal opportunity to meet and interact with families and children of the same age. We can also arrange taster sessions for entry into Years 1 to 6 where places are available.

3. Taster Days

We can arrange for your child to spend a taster day in their prospective class at a time to suit you. Your child will be accompanied by a 'buddy' from their class who will help them find out more about the school throughout the day. They will have the opportunity to sample an exciting mixture of academic lessons, co-curricular activities, sport, social time and meals.

4. Individual Visit

Book an individual visit at your convenience to meet the Head of the Prep Department, Mrs Claire Belk, and enjoy a tour of Bellan House. Please allow one and a half hours for this visit.

Register with us

We encourage you to register with us by completing our Registration Form and fee as soon as you are ready; once we have this, you are then included on our list of applicants for the appropriate year and will be contacted for taster days and scholarships. Please contact the Admissions Office before registering to ensure we have places remaining.
