From the founding of the School by David Holbache in 1407 through to the present day, donor support has played a vital part in our development and growth as a school. Many of our finest facilities have been made possible through generous gifts from our community, helping pupils to have the best experience possible and grow into well-rounded citizens.

Development remains central to our vision for Oswestry School's exciting future. We currently have an extensive programme of refurbishment and development within the school and we rely on your generosity to fund these areas. Your donation will support both the conservation of our historical buildings and also improve facilities for Oswestry School pupils.

The Momentum Hall

Formally opened in September 2018 by England cricket captain Charlotte Edwards CBE, the Momentum Hall is the latest development at Oswestry School.

Discussions for a new sporting facility had been held for a number of years and a decision was reached to build a high tensile fabric structure with a glulam (glued laminated timber) frame from a sustainable source to complement the school's 'green' ethos. To add to its eco credentials the structure is translucent thus reducing the need for lights during daylight hours. However, when lights are needed they are powered by a state-of-the-art LED lighting system to reduce the amount of power required..

The Hall was built by SMC2 who specialise in such buildings and construction began in September 2017. Oswestry School has been part of the community for over 600 years and it was important that local contractors were involved in the build.

Local businessman and Old Oswestrian, Howard Jones (1979-89) from Momentum Wine, was keen to be involved in the project from the beginning and, having a love of sport, sponsored the Hall thus the name ‘Momentum Hall’.

The Momentum Hall is a great addition to the school offering a wealth of multi-purpose space. It can house two netball courts, two tennis courts, court spaces for badminton, volleyball and basketball, plus there are three indoor cricket nets and can cater for functions of up to 800 people. The Hall is the home venue for the Oswestry & District Netball league.

The Refectory

All-Weather Astro Pitch

Opened in September 2013 the all-weather sports pitch was contructed in a full size sand dressed synthetic grass upon an insitu rubber shock pad on an engineered base.

The work was completed within 12 weeks and has provided an excellent year round facility for pupils to play hockey, football and tennis.

The facility is also open for bookings to the local community.
