A fantastic achievement for Sienna and Verity, who have both completed this year’s Shropshire Cricket Ambassador Programme.
The programme involves intensive training and more than 20 hours of coaching, scoring and umpiring at their local cricket clubs. Both pupils were recently recognised at the Shropshire Cricket Ambassador Awards, where they received certificates, hoodies and T-shirts.
Sienna has coached junior cricketers every Friday throughout the season, as well as scoring and umpiring matches, while Verity’s volunteering included umpiring a Shropshire Ladies 100 Ball semi-final and scoring the final. Her contribution was recognised with paid work from Shropshire County Cricket.
There was further cricket success for Charlotte and Verity, who were part of the Oswestry Women and Girls Hardball and Softball Cricket Team this season. The team won both the Shropshire Cricket Hardball and Softball Leagues, securing the titles for the third consecutive year.
A fantastic achievement all round, and a wonderful example of our pupils developing their skills while giving back to their local sporting community.
