Fourteen Upper Sixth pupils have completed their Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition, with three groups taking on a challenging 29 mile hike from Lake Vyrnwy to the centre of Oswestry.

The groups set off on Saturday morning in dry conditions, with each team having planned their own route before beginning the expedition. Over the following three days, they navigated their routes, covered the 29 mile distance and worked together to complete the challenge.

By the time they arrived back in Oswestry on Monday afternoon, the weather had certainly changed, with the groups returning rather wetter than when they had left!

Planning and navigating their own routes made this a particularly rewarding challenge, requiring independence, teamwork, resilience and determination along the way.

A fantastic achievement by all 14 pupils. Well done to everyone involved!
