Flourishment
Joseph (2nd)
Joseph competed in the National Schools Games and performed well in both the individual and relay events.
Connie (5th)
Connie has qualified for Winter Regionals at swimming in the following events: - 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke. This is a fantastic achievement for Connie.
Oliver (L6th)
Oliver put in a fantastic performance to win gold in the U17 British Ranking event in Cardiff this July. These events welcome the best fencers from across the UK, and achieving any podium place is a significant result. Oliver put in a dominant performance, and despite a close encounter in the last 8, where he sneaked home 15-14, he dispatched most of his opponents with relevant ease. This included a great match against a Great Britain teammate in the semi-final. Oliver has been a member of the Great Britain U17 fencing team for the past two years, and he is determined to make the most of his final season in this age category. Fresh from a training camp in Hungary and a GB pathway camp at Nottingham University, he has already secured selection for international competitions in Turkey — earning a place in the first team for the team event — and then Hungary. His focus now turns to upcoming selections for Bulgaria, Spain, Czech Republic and Germany later in the season, competing against the top young fencers from across Europe, America, and beyond. A brilliant result Oliver - well done!
Pearl (L6th)
Pearl has taken on the role of SEND Ambassador and is already having a huge impact in her role. She has been instrumental in helping a new pupil settle, and her willingness to champion the importance of using assistive technology in the school community is phenomenal!
Oscar (U6th)
In July, Oscar returned to competitive hockey, travelling to Nottingham with the North Wales U17 squad to compete in the Hockey National County Championships 2026. In the Group stages they played teams from London, Surrey, Cambridgeshire, Lancashire & Gloucestershire and finished third. This meant that in the second phase they played in the 5 – 8 classifications where they beat Shropshire 2 – 0 and Cornwall 4 – 1 to finish the tournament fifth overall. In addition, at the end of this season's Wales Hockey Regional Performance Centre (RPC) Oscar was invited to Cardiff for trials for the Wales U18 team, participating at the school games in Loughborough. Although not selected for the final squad Oscar received valuable feedback that he will use with his goal keeping coach to improve his chances of future selection. He will also this year be able to return to team hockey as the keeper for Denbigh 1s keeper. Well done Oscar!

Emelia (U6th)
A nomination is made in recognition of the hard work and professionalism shown to our new boarders who arrived on Saturday. Not only did these pupils volunteer their time to come into school to help, but they also met, greeted, toured and chatted with our new boarders with such warmth, compassion and empathy; qualities that are truly becoming of an Oswestry School prefect. Their kindness, maturity and willingness to go above and beyond made a real difference to the experience of our new boarders and their families and are a wonderful reflection of the values we expect from our prefects.
Tommy (3rd)
Thank you Tommy for giving up your Saturday to come into school to help with the new boarders' induction. You did a wonderful job helping move suitcases up and down the hill, running errands and even coming to meet some of the new boys in your year group. You demonstrated our virtues of responsibility and collaboration, well done!
