Hickstead, here we come! Oswestry pupils qualify for NSEA National Championships.

Six of our equestrian team pupils travelled to Lucton School this weekend to compete at a National Schools Equine Association (NSEA) Eventers Challenge Hickstead Qualifier. With qualification cards only available for the 1st two teams and four individuals in each class, the competition was fierce.

Competing with a number of team combinations across 3 classes; Elsie, Maisey, Alexia, Alexa, Freddy and Mila, collectively swept the board bringing home a hat trick of 1sts in each class height. Teams also gained two 3rd placings. Individual qualifying success was achieved by Mila, 1st, and Alexa, 2nd, in the 70cm class. Maisey, 4th, and Alexa, 5th, in the 80 class, and a 1-2-3 in the 90 class, with Elsie taking 1st, Freddy, 2nd and Alexa in 3rd. Shona Flatley as pupil lead supported our pupils in bringing out the true team spirit ethos of equine sport at Oswestry School.

After a tremendous start to the 22-23 season, Oswestry took the Lucton Shield as overall winners of the competition.
