Lower Sixth pupil Freya has been successful in gaining a place in the Welsh Netball squad for the coming season. After what Freya thought was a 'disastrous' trial, being picked for the squad came as a huge shock and we are thrilled that all of her hard work has paid off. 

Freya has also been selected for the Severn Stars Player Development Pathway based at Wrekin College- this will afford Freya a very high standard of training and playing opportunities. Over 80 talented athletes have trialled for this from all over the Midlands so this is another huge achievement.

Freya's coach, Lynda Manson said, 

"Freya has continued to develop and grow as an athlete. She has successfully managed to navigate the demands of being a high-level athlete as well as keep on track with her academia. We are so very proud of everything she has accomplished from starting by being excited by being selected for Oswestry school's inaugural Nova Centre, making the transition to becoming an Oswestry student, then moving through the ranks of Severn Stars now securing a place in the new Player Development Program and topping this success with a successful Welsh under 17 trial. Well done Freya we will be with you every step of the way!"
