On Sunday, 13th October, Oswestry hosted its annual 10K race through the town centre and surrounding area. The race brought together runners of all abilities for this popular local event. Among the excited participants were five energetic Oswestry School pupils - Ffion, Liam, Zac, Charlie, and Frank - who ran alongside a dedicated group of teachers - Tom Heard, Helen Bainbridge, Kate Roberts, Nicola Jones, and Sofie Suckley. The race was full of impressive performances, the stand out being Tom Heard who won1st place in his age group, finishing 4th overall. His fantastic run motivated others and showed off the competitive spirit of the event.
The pupils also did a great job, finishing the race in times ranging from 37 minutes to just under an hour. Along the route, boarding pupils from the school cheered on the runners, handing out water and sweets to help them keep going. Their support really lifted the spirits of those passing by and captured the friendly, community vibe of Oswestry School.
We look forward to next year's event, where more participants will join in the fun and camaraderie.
