Sofi, in Lower Sixth, has won a prize for solving two student problems in the March edition of the Mathematical Gazette. These problems are around the level of the British Maths Olympiad, an extremely challenging student competition.

One of the problems that Sofi solved involved constructing a particular 3-dimensional extension to Pick's theorem, which itself relates the area of a polygon on a square grid to dots inside it and on its perimeter.
