Last Friday, a few of our 6th formers were invited to attend Abraham Court Retirement Home, in Oswestry, to start off their festive season with a few Christmas carols.
The pupils' choir, led by Alice, were very warmly welcomed and sang beautiful renditions of Jingle Bells, Last Christmas and Silent Night to name but a few.
There was a request following Silent Night to sing the German version. The gentleman who asked for this was a retired military man and that particular Carol held special sentiment as it was the one sung during the cease-fire on Christmas Day 1914, WW1. Therefore the German pupils amongst the choir, led by Julius, sang a beautiful, tear-jerking rendition.
The pupils did us proud and did themselves very proud! Thank you Aled Phillips, our Director of Music, for arranging this event.
