L6 pupil gains qualifications in shearing, driving and tree felling

Lower sixth pupil Freddy is adding to his agricultural skillset by gaining several qualifications this year in a number of disciplines...

He recently gained his Blue Seal Qualification for Sheep Shearing, on a course organised by British Wool who are the approved provider for shearing & wool handling training in the UK. The training and assessment was held over two days which Freddy said it was hard work, but well worth the effort!  (Although he is now a qualified shearer, I don't think we should be asking him for a haircut!)

Freddy also Passed his Tractor Driving test and can drive a tractor legally on the road, plus he also Attended a five-day training and assessment course for Chainsaw Maintenance and Felling Small Trees, which he passed, and has been awarded a City & Guilds Level 2 qualification.
