Himalayan adventure for Oswestry pupils

Oswestry School's adventure to the Himalayas was a wonderful experience for our pupils. The expedition saw our young explorers take turns to be team leader, manage the entire team’s budget, learn new skills and accomplish some personal goals....

After sightseeing and trekking, the team moved to Shree Chandra Joyie school in the foothills of the Himalayas where they the spent 3 days working hard in the heat to build the school an outdoor performance space. With some fundraising from the Church family, they were able to supply the school with their first laptop!

The experience was as good for our pupils as it was for the schools. The Chandra pupils loved playing cricket and football, sharing hairstyles and dances.

A final leg of white water rafting in a glacial river, and a trip to old town Kathmandu concluded the expedition, before flying home to the UK.

A special thank you to Claire Thompson for organising such a rewarding trip to Nepal for the Oswestry cohort.
