On Tuesday, Brian Welti, governor of the school and grandfather, squeezed us into his busy schedule as the High Sheriff of Shropshire, to explain, not only his expansive work in and for the community, but also how his career in the Fire Service helped him to receive this honourable position. Dressed formally in his High Sheriff regalia, he fascinated the children with his story but, even more impressively, with his sword!
