Tennis

Oswestry School Tennis continues to grow in popularity. It is a firm favourite sport during Games with over half of any year group wanting to play. For most it allows for friendly, recreational competition, but for the teams Tennis is fiercely competitive with lots of success.

Tennis is one of the School's top achieving sports with a high win ratio in previous seasons.

Team selections are competitive. The School is fully equipped to meet the demands of pupils of any age and ability. Pupils of all levels have the chance to represent Oswestry School in regular matches against local schools and in Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) competitions. Teams train up to 3 times per week during the Trinity Term and weekly across Michaelmas and Lent terms. Individual tuition from the School's LTA licensed level 4 coach is available throughout the year.

Oswestry School competes in various tournaments and fixtures against academies, counties, and clubs. Our U13 boys and girls regularly win division matches and compete at regional finals. In 2019 the U13 boys and U15 girls returned from the North Shropshire tournaments as North Shropshire Champions. Oswestry School boasts U13 county tennis champions.

The School holds summer camps for established junior players, aged 5-14, which are open to all.
