Pupils make headway in their football careers

Two pupils have plans to become professional footballers.

Tom Bloxham, in 5th Form, has signed a two year scholarship with Shrewsbury Town FC. Despite being an Under 16 player, Tom has already made appearances for the full U18 academy team.

Meanwhile, Lewis Rees, in Upper Sixth, has been training regularly with The New Saints 1st XI squad in the Welsh Premier League. He recently made his debut in the Welsh Cup against Aberystwyth and is set to make another appearance against Newtown. Lewis is combining his football talent with A level study, and has already been offered a place at Cardiff Metropolitan University to study Sport Science while continuing to play football in the Welsh Premier League
