​On Sunday 30 March 2025, It was a privilege for Oswestry School to host this year’s High Sheriff of Shropshire's Legal Service luncheon and afternoon tea celebrating the shrieval year of High Sheriff Brian Welti JP who is an Oswestry School Governor.

Alongside hosting these functions, we were proud that members of the school’s CCF led the formal procession whilst during the Legal Service, Head Boy Oliver took on a starring role as Verger, with pupils Daniel and Ella sung beautiful solos and did the school proud.

The office of High Sheriff is an ancient appointment dating back to the 10th Century. It is a wonderful tradition and today was a very special day for the town of Oswestry as well as Oswestry School.

Congratulations Brian on a tremendous year in office that included an incredible 270 engagements!
