L6th pupil, Lewis, recently achieved a merit in the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust (UKMT) Senior Kangaroo Challenge, a prestigious mathematics competition held annually by UKMT.
This challenge is designed for students aged 16-18 and serves as a follow-up to the UKMT Senior Mathematical Challenge. It consists of a series of challenging mathematical problems that test both problem-solving skills and mathematical reasoning. The problems range from algebra and geometry to number theory and combinatorics, requiring participants to think critically and creatively under time pressure.
By earning a merit, Lewis demonstrated his strong mathematical abilities and his aptitude for solving complex problems, distinguishing himself among a pool of talented young mathematicians from across the UK.
As a school, we have not had a student be awarded a qualification in a Kangaroo challenge, so this is a wonderful achievement!
