Founder's Day 2024 set to be an exciting day of events

This year's Founder's Day, on Saturday 14 September 2024, is gearing up to be an exciting day full of activities for the whole Oswestry School community...

The day will begin with the long-held tradition of the Founder's Service at St. Oswald's Parish Church, starting at 10.30am. Following that, the school will be open for Prefect oours of the Senior School campus; the Library will showcase an archive exhibition of its fascinating school memorabilia, and there will be a dance performance by pupils in the Memorial Hall Theatre from 11.30am.

A new addition to the proceedings this year, will be an array of exciting activities on the Maes-y-Llan fields aimed to entertain every age from the youngest pupil to the most enduring Old Oswestrian. Activities include pupil enterprise stalls, games and sports, bouncy castles and much more!  There will be food and drink available and plenty of opportunity for relaxing and socialising with friends.

One of the day's highlights is sure to be the Dog Show, a first for Oswestry School, but an event that has long been requested by pupils.

Architect plans for the exciting new Performing Arts Centre will be on show, and to kick-start the fundraising appeal for the project, there will be a Grand Raffle and Silent Auction, offering chances to win lots of great prizes!

Join us for drinks on the Refectory Terrace Bar from 6pm.  Open to all, (18+) our drinks on the terrace event will provide the perfect setting for more socialising and mingling with Oswestry School friends old and new.

The annual Founder’s Day Dinner, hosted by the Old Oswestrian Society takes place in the evening at the Peter Humphreys Centre. Past pupils, parents and friends are all very welcome to attend this event which has been an Oswestry School tradition for over 70 years.
