Fernanda (Luna) (5th)
Fernanda's beautifully-written poem about boarding and the special nature of friendships formed therein made for a moving and poignant recital during Sunday's Boarders' Chapel service. A skilfully-crafted poem demonstrating impressive creative writing ability, it was a joy to hear such positive impressions formed after the first few weeks of term and the very special nature of boarding encapsulated so brilliantly in the poem.
Following a trial process, Flossie has been selected into the North Shropshire U12 Girls Football squad for a second season.
Seb (1st)
Since joining 1st form, Seb is taking the opportunities presented to him to develop his academic skills, and working super hard. Well done, keep up the hard work.
Oscar (5th)
For showing overall increased focus and independence with his learning; in particular for an outstanding effort in English since the start of this year. He works hard every single lesson and the work in his book is evidence of just how hard he is trying. Oscar recently delivered an emotive and personal speech to the class for his Spoken Language assessment and we would like to commend him for his amazing efforts.
Maisey (5th)
Maisey was an integral part of the inaugural Oswestry School Dog Show and showed great responsibility in helping to plan and run the event. She took the job seriously and discharged her role with even-handedness - despite it being hotly contested. There is a future judge in there somewhere!
This year, with the launch of the 2030 Strategic Plan- Forte - pupils will be recognised for embodying and demonstrating the school’s Values and Virtues. Underpinning all aspects of school life, Oswestry School’s Values and Virtues are central to our school’s vision and ethos, empowering pupils in their Oswestry journey and enabling all individuals to excel and find their forte.
Our Values are what we believe in; things that we hold as important and core to who we are. Oswestry School’s Values are deeply rooted and serve as a firm foundation for positive wellbeing, character development and contribution to society. Our Values are: Flourishment; Opportunity; Responsibility; Trust; Empathy.
Our Virtues represent a range of skill sets that can be experienced, developed and mastered here at Oswestry School. They are behaviours, character strengths, attitudes and mindsets that enable pupils to thrive at school and flourish in life. Our Virtues encourage pupils to be: Analytical; Collaborative; Independent; Innovative; Proactive; Resilient.
