This week's Forte gathering was held by our Headmaster, Mr Middleton and our Deputy Head, Futures, Mr Price. They were delighted to be able to meet with this week's winners and congratulate them on their efforts and achievements. Our winners were selected because they exhibited Forte virtues or values...
Will (2nd), Lowri (5th), Joanna (L6th), Dyfrig (U6th)
For being willing to step out of their comfort zone and do a beautifully clear and well paced reading at the whole School Carol Service at the end of the Michaelmas term.
Blessing (U6th)
Blessing is nominated for a Forte Award in recognition of her remarkable growth and exceptional leadership within the boarding house over the past term. Blessing has proved to be a highly effective and inspirational leader, showcasing her ability to engage with her peers and handle challenging situations with a calm and confident demeanour that exceeds expectations. She is genuinely looked up to and Blessing is not only loved but also highly respected by her peers.
Yustyna (4th)
Yustyna joined us in September 2024 and has flourished in her tennis competitions. She has been training with Ian, our tennis coach. She registered with the LTA in September and has since entered to compete in 10 tournaments. Unfortunately, due to her lack of ranking, she was only able to participate in 4 of them. Remarkably, in each of those tournaments, she reached the finals and emerged victorious in two.
Marco (5th)
Mr Carr set a tricky programming challenge for the week for his GCSE CompSci students, then they went to break. Before the end of break, Marco had solved it and submitted his work, which was excellent. This is just the latest example of his tireless work above and beyond Mr Carr's expectations this year. He's the consummate learner, driven, ambitious, independent and industrious.
James (L6th)
James has done remarkably well in resitting and passing his English examination with flying colours. He has been determined and incredibly resilient in bouncing back from his summer examinations and working hard to overcome challenges. We are incredibly proud of his efforts and know his determined attitude will help him flourish in his A-Levels. Well done James!
